## Find the source

Open the citation attached to the point you want to check. Confirm the paper title and identifier.

## Check source support

Confirm that the cited paper supports the claim, with the relevant population and outcome. Abstract-only access limits what can be verified.

## Inspect numbers and context

Check the denominator, time horizon and whether the result is absolute or relative.

## Keep uncertainty visible

When source support is missing or contradictory, record the gap and consult the original material or appropriate expertise.

## A worked workflow example

Check one claim from a research answer before using it in a discussion. A citation provides a route to verification. Its presence does not establish that the source supports the exact claim.

### Your input

Ask: 'For adult ICU early mobilisation trials, identify the primary outcomes and follow-up periods. Keep each outcome attached to its original study.' Select one statement from the answer to inspect. The question needs no patient history or identifiers.

### In AttendMe

Open the citation card attached to the statement. Use Open source or the DOI link for a journal paper. Use View source document for an authorised local protocol. Confirm the title and identifier first. Select Save to Library when you need to return for appraisal.

### What you inspect

Locate the supporting passage or table. Check population, comparator, endpoint and follow-up. For a percentage, check the denominator and whether it reports absolute risk or relative change. Abstract-only access limits the check. Mark details that require full text instead of assuming the source contains them.

### Your reviewed result

Example claim-check record: 'Answer claim: copy the statement. Source: record PMID or DOI. Supporting passage: locate it. Access: record the material available. Verdict: supported, partly supported or unresolved, with a reason.' Ask a narrower question or inspect another source when support is missing.

## Before you reuse the result

Use this final check to decide whether the work is ready to discuss, save or continue. A useful output preserves its evidence, its scope and the questions it could not answer.

- The citation identifies the paper described by the claim.

- The source passage supports the exact population, outcome and follow-up.

- Percentages retain their denominator and type of effect measure.

- The record states what you verified and what remains unresolved.
