A useful update starts with a source
The Fellow connects new evidence with specialty and topic interests. Open the paper, inspect the type of evidence and decide whether it belongs in your practice. Alerts support awareness and review; they are not an emergency notification service.
- Follow a focused topic or a broader clinical interest.
- Inspect the evidence behind a surfaced development.
- Keep local relevance and the limits of the source in view.
Put the capability to work
You already have a small collection of papers on a recurring research question. An evidence alert is useful when it gives you a source worth inspecting and explains why it belongs in that thread.
Choose a research thread
Select your specialty and save the papers that define your question. Use explicit interests to keep the scope clear. Where the Watching for you controls are enabled, add a focused topic and inspect the scope the Fellow records.
Open the evidence
Read the brief in Digital Fellow. Open the evidence card, expand the original abstract when available, and follow the PubMed or DOI link. Keep the original abstract separate from a saved summary or appraisal.
A useful alert has a visible source
Your review note can use this structure: paper identity; publication year; study or report type; relation to the saved question; point that needs full-text review. Those fields describe a review structure, not a finding from a particular publication.
Keep or refine the thread
Save the source when it belongs in your library. If it answers a different question, refine the interest or use the enabled feedback controls. Older evidence may be labelled Background reading; a new card does not always mean a new study.
What a useful result contains
Use these checks to assess the work you can actually open. Keep the source, the supported account workflow and your own review connected.
- The source identifier opens the publication you expect.
- The card's publication date and evidence type are visible.
- The update has a clear relationship to your research interest.
Keep the evidence and your judgment together
The Fellow supports research, awareness and review. Inspect important sources, keep questions de-identified and check local guidance. It does not take autonomous clinical action.
