No Medical Advice

The information provided by AttendMe is for educational and research purposes only. It should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or accessed through AttendMe.

AI Limitations

AttendMe uses artificial intelligence to analyze and synthesize information from medical literature. Users should be aware that:

  • AI systems can make errors, provide incomplete information, or misinterpret data
  • The AI may not have access to the most recent medical research or guidelines
  • Context and nuance in medical decision-making may not be fully captured by AI
  • Individual patient factors and clinical judgment cannot be replaced by AI analysis

No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Use of AttendMe does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and AttendMe, its operators, or any healthcare professionals associated with the service. The platform is a tool for healthcare professionals to enhance their research capabilities, not a means of providing direct patient care.

Emergency Situations

Professional Responsibility

Healthcare professionals using AttendMe remain fully responsible for their clinical decisions and patient care. The platform is designed to augment, not replace, professional expertise and judgment. Users should:

  • Verify all information through primary sources and clinical guidelines
  • Consider the full clinical context of each patient
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable medical standards and regulations
  • Exercise independent professional judgment in all clinical decisions

Global Regulatory Classification

Australia (TGA)

Under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) framework, AttendMe qualifies for the Clinical Decision Support Software (CDSS) exemption under Part 2 of Schedule 4 of the Therapeutic Goods (Medical Devices) Regulations 2002. As exempt CDSS, AttendMe is not required to be included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG). AttendMe meets all three exemption criteria:

  • Does not directly process or analyse medical images or signals from another medical device
  • Is solely used to provide or support recommendations to healthcare professionals about prevention, diagnosis, or treatment
  • Does not replace the clinical judgement of a health professional — all outputs include full citations enabling independent verification against primary sources

New Zealand (Medsafe)

Under Medsafe guidelines, AttendMe is classified as non-device software. As a research and information tool for healthcare professionals, it does not meet the medical device definition and is not required to be notified in the WAND database.

United States (FDA)

Under the 21st Century Cures Act, Section 3060(a), AttendMe qualifies as Non-Device Clinical Decision Support (CDS) software. It meets all four statutory criteria for exclusion from the FDA medical device definition:

  • Does not process medical images or device signals
  • Displays and analyzes medical information
  • Provides recommendations to healthcare professionals
  • Enables independent verification via full citations

Common Basis for Exemption: In all jurisdictions, AttendMe qualifies for regulatory exemption because it:

  • Provides evidence synthesis and literature recommendations to healthcare professionals, not autonomous clinical decisions
  • Explicitly requires healthcare professionals to verify all information and apply independent clinical judgment
  • Includes full citations to primary medical literature, enabling professional verification of all outputs
  • Functions as a consultation tool that augments (not replaces) clinical expertise

These regulatory exemptions recognize that clinical decision support tools supporting (rather than replacing) professional judgment present lower regulatory risk when used by licensed healthcare professionals. This classification does not diminish your responsibility to verify information and exercise professional judgment.

Information Currency

While AttendMe strives to provide access to current medical literature, medical knowledge evolves rapidly. Users should always verify that the information accessed is current and applicable to their specific clinical context.

Research Use Only

AttendMe is intended as a research and educational tool for qualified healthcare professionals. It should be used to supplement, not replace, comprehensive medical research, clinical experience, and professional judgment.

Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AttendMe and its operators disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses.
